DRUMSTICK JAGGERY CURRY

Ingredients used in DRUMSTICK JAGGERY CURRY
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Garlic(chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Green chillies(finely chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Onion - 1/2 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Red chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Drumsticks(pieces) - 1 cup.
• Jaggery - 25-35 grams.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, garlic, green chillies and saute it.
  • Add curry leaves, onions, little salt, drumsticks, red chili powder and saute it, place lid cook it for 2 -3 minutes.
  • Add little water and mix it cook again on slow flame for 5 minutes with lid on it.
  • When drumsticks are soft add jaggery, little salt and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Now drumstick jaggery curry is ready to serve with rice and plain dal.

Is there another English word for "drumstick"?  In my culture (USA), the word drumstick as it relates to food means chicken leg.  To me, your drumsticks look like what we call okra.?
