Chhurpi soup is a traditional soup of Sikkim, Chhurpi is a fermented dairy product. Chhurpi soup is mildly spiced and uses the paanch phoran spice for flavor and taste to the soup.

Recipe of Chhurpi Soup

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Chhurpi  250 Grams
Tomato, sliced  1/2 Cup
Onion, chopped  1/2 Cup
Green chilies, sliced  3-4 Numbers
Ginger (grated)  1 Tablespoons
Paanch phoran  1/2 Tablespoons
Turmeric powder  1/4 Tablespoons
Salt  1 Teaspoons

  1. Heat oil, fry Paanch phoran, addchopped oniontill it becomes golden brown.
  2. Add finely sliced and grated ginger, tomatoes and seasoned with Chhurpi and add salt. Stir and fry till oil separates.
  3. Garnish withfresh coriander leaves.
  4. Serve hot with cooked rice.
